After six weeks of quite intence work, the Swan Lake is now down from the designwall and fused. There has been a lot of challenges so far, but mostly a pleasure. I enjoy watching it come to life by evry piece of fabric I cut and put on. There's a lot of work remaining. First all the pieces will be sewn ans secured with zigzag and then all the details are going to be threadpainted. Then the front, batting and backing comes together and it all will be quilted.
I bought several fabrics for this piece, but only used 5-6 of them, mostly the white and the red and blue of his arm. The rest is my own hand-dyed fabrics. I think they are softer in the colors and more suitable for the expression I wanted in this piece. Now on to the sewingmachine....
